The Ministry of Keith Green

Standard

The next stop on today’s memory lane trip through my Christian music history is at the door of Keith Green.

Despite his untimily death in the early ’80’s, the ministry continues and still fills my heart with both worship and conviction.

The Music of Steve Taylor

Standard

This is stop number four in my trip back down my musical memory lane.

The music of Steve Talyor always was as provocative as it was catchy. Today, if he set aside his film career to make a new album, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Resurrection Band

Standard

My third stop on memory lane today.

Resurrection Band…sometimes known as REZ.

Nobody in Christian music rocked harder in the 80’s – musically or lyrically.

God With Us

Standard

Can you picture Mary, young and childlike…
Yet chosen by God!
See her tremble in wonder at the angel,
“Oh, how can this be?”
“By the Spirit,” he proclaimed,
And nothing ever will be the same…

Son of God, holy, divine…
Come into the world at the crux of time!
Fully man, wholly humane…
Come to reignite Heaven’s flame
In the hearts of all mankind,
No greater gift could anyone find
Than the One in Bethlehem…
Peace on earth! Good will to man!
Give glory to Him above…
For this wondrous gift of love…
God with us!

Consider the shepherds out at twilight…
Keeping their watch,
See them tremble in fright now at the angels…
And the glory of God!
While in a lowly manger lay
The One of whom the angels sang…

Son of God, holy, divine…
Come into the world at the crux of time!
Fully man, wholly humane…
Come to reignite Heaven’s flame
In the hearts of all mankind,
No greater gift could anyone find
Than the One in Bethlehem…
Peace on earth! Good will to man!
Give glory to Him above…
For this wondrous gift, yeah, this wonderful gift of love…
God with us!

Should I Admit This…?

Okay…um…I think I’ve discovered that I pretty much like the music of Corinne Bailey Rae.

That kind of freaks me out a little bit. 😮
