More of The Music Game

I first saw this game on Clint’s blog and thought I would give it a go.

The idea is that you set your Zune (iPod, mp3 player of choice, etc.) to random, then write down the first line from the first 25 songs that play (unless that line contains the title of the song).

You, the lucky reader, get to guess the name of the song.  When someone guesses correctly, I cross out the line and write in the title and artist.

Just for the record, searching the internet for answers is cheating.  No Googling!  Giggling is perfect acceptable, however.

With close to 3,000 songs on my Zune, I wondered how it would play out…and though some of these are easy, some of them showcase my obscure listening habits.

      Have fun!

Budding Computer Artist?

For quite a while now I’ve been following the sales over at

Everyday, they sell a shirt for $10.00 that was designed by some unknown artist out in internet land.  In addition, they run a weekly competition enticing would be artists to make submissions according to a particular theme.

Here’s the theme for this week’s derby:

A Little Cold Weather Church Karaoke…

Last Sunday, my wife and I sang some karaoke in church.

My wife wrote lyrics that parodied the original…

The subject?  The excuses we sometimes make about gathering with the church.

The song?  "Baby, It’s Cold Outside."  In the style of Tom Jones.  Really!

It turned out to be a lot of fun.  I was hoping to post an instrumental version for you to sing along, but I haven’t found a link.

Lyrics are below:
